Main Minister A. Revanth Reddy expressed his readiness to negotiate with the main Minister Andr Pradesh N. Chandrababu Naidu on interstate water disputes, especially the controversial project Banakacherl.
In an informal interview with reporters in Nový Dilli on Friday, June, Mr. Reddy said that he favored dialogue over confrontation and interstate water disputes can only be resolved through mutual understanding and cooperation.
Mr. Revant Reddy attributed the dispute to the uniform acceptance of the report by Andr Pradesh with a preliminary report (PFR) without consulting Telangana. “The urgency with which the center reacted after the AP submitted the PFR is a problem,” he emphasized the emphasization of a balanced approach in dealing with such sensitive international questions.
Mr. Reddy believed that if Mr. Chandrababa wanted to regain power, the key aspect is to divert the water of Godavari. If Mr. Modi wants his place, he needs Mr. Chandrababa’s support. However, these strategic interests must not undermine the rights of telangans, ”he said.
The main minister, who has been in Nový Delhi in the last two days that represents the central government, said such matters should be solved by legal and technical evaluation, not a play of political guilt. These disputes were between states and not individuals, he said.
The main minister explained that the Banakacherla project was a complementary Polavarama project, the only project that was specifically permitted under the Andr Pradesh reorganization Act. The new project cannot continue without telangana’s consent due to its direct connection with Godavari-Penna.
“The AP released two GOS in 2016 and 2018. Based on these, Wapcos submitted a 150 -page report. The Banakacherla project proposes a 400 TMC transfer in 86 days. Telangana was assigned to 968 TMCFT of Godavari as the upper Potrhovač state and Telangana must be allowed first,” he said. The problem would start at a cabinet meeting scheduled for June 23.
