Bengaluru police issues strict advisory ahead of RCB vs GT IPL 2026 final

Shubman Gill and Rajat Patidar (BCCI/IPL Photo) NEW DELHI: Ahead of the IPL 2026 final between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Gujarat Titans on Sunday, the Bengaluru Police has issued a strict public advisory.As excitement builds across the city as RCB chase their second IPL crown, authorities have urged fans to celebrate responsibly and avoid activities that could lead to crowding, public disturbance or security concerns. Special security and traffic arrangements are in place to ensure the celebrations do not get out of hand.In its advisory, the Bengaluru police ordered citizens not to gather in public places for celebrations immediately after the final result. It is also prohibited to install LED screens towards public roads without prior approval.

The authorities further ordered shopping malls, pubs and other establishments not to hold live screenings in areas visible to the general public. The use of firecrackers and other dangerous materials during celebrations was also prohibited.Police also cracked down on activities such as bike rallies, speeding, stunt riding, unnecessary honking and road blocks, warning that strict action would be taken against violators.Members of the public were advised not to consume alcohol in public places, create disturbances, engage in fights or engage in indecent behavior during the post-match celebrations.The advisory also warned people against sharing provocative content, rumors or hateful messages on social media. Fans were urged not to target or taunt supporters of rival teams, as such behavior could lead to unnecessary confrontations.Appealing for public cooperation, Bengaluru police said maintaining security, peace, law and order during the highly watched final was a collective responsibility and urged fans to celebrate responsibly.
