
India will organize thematic events and programs in 1300 cities around the world to mark International Yoga’s International Day on Saturday, introducing an ancient tradition and the soft power of the nation.
The Indian High Commission in Pakistan also organizes a yoga event in Islamabad on this occasion, according to a statement issued on Friday by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), the cultural arm of the Ministry for External Affairs.
“On the 10th anniversary of the Yoga International Day, we will practically cover every country in the world where yoga events are organized. In some countries like the US, we organize several events in different cities,” said ICCR CEO to Nandini Singla.
1300 seats, 2,000 events
ICCR will organize various yoga events and programs in 191 countries 21.

In Delhi, yoga events will be led by these foreign yoga guru in amber Mantar, Qutub Minar, Puran Quil and Humayun’s tomb, while similar programs “Yoga Bandhan” will be organized at iconic places in Lucknow, Ayodya, Varanasi, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Gwalior added.

Like yoga, the “Union” is between “Atma” and “Paramatma”, “Yoga Bandhan” is trying to “unify India and the world,” said DG ICCR.
“It is a question of great satisfaction that yoga came a full circle. Yoga has moved from India to these countries. People abroad learned yoga and today returned to India to lead yoga demonstrations through Indian people in India,” Singla added.
“Yoga for one country, one health”
The theme for International Yoga 2025 is “Yoga for one country, one health”.
This topic reflects the fundamental truth about the interconnection of health, sustainability and the environment, in accordance with the Indian vision of “One Earth, One Family, One Future” emphasized during the G20 Presidency, ICCR underlines.
ICCR DG noted that preparations for International Yoga Day 2025 began a few months ago.
“To create an idy awareness, we have done various programs to mark a 100 -day countdown, 75 -day countdowns, a 50 -day countdown and a 25 -day countdown. Our embassies and consulates hosted special yoga events in preparation for idy,” she said.
Indian 37 cultural centers in different countries have also organized a number of yoga programs over the last 100 days, Singla added.
Regarding the popularity of yoga in foreign countries, she said: “Prominent personalities such as deputies, legislators, police officers and judges also learn yoga abroad”.
Many people in foreign countries adopt yoga in their daily lives to remain healthy and beat stress, said Singla, adding that yoga “truly became a global movement”.
