Of the 577 suspect cases of dengue reported in the Mysur district since January, according to January 21, they tested positively according to the health department.
A total of 492 samples were tested. In Majur alone, 10 Dengue cases with 249 samples tested have been confirmed of 290 suspicious cases. Among the talkes only T. Narsipur reported any cases of dengue. All other taluk registered one or two cases.
With the advent of the monsoon season, the Ministry of Health and Family Care on Friday in Mysur City City a campaign for Dengue, to reduce the dissemination of the disease.
As for Chikungunya, nine positive cases have been reported in rural areas of Mysoru since January. Although 15 suspicious cases were identified in Nanjangud, none was tested positive. T. Narsipur recorded one confirmed case of Chikungunya.
As part of the ride on the awareness, medical officials and ASHA staff visited several locations and educated residents on measures for control of mosquitoes and preventive steps to prevent mosquitoes.
