DMK deputy and former Minister of Union Dayanidhi Maran sent a legal announcement to his older brother Kalanithi Mara, chairman of Sun Network, his wife Kavery Kalanithi and six others who increased the dispute over transactions held in 2003, reflecting a family dispute between brothers.
The announcement pointed out that since the beginning of the Sun TV Network LTD (earlier Sumangali Publications PVT Ltd) until 15 September 2003, Mr. Kalanithi served only as an employee of a group who received a salary and did not hold any shares.
He claimed that September 15, 2003, just seven days after Sn Maran (their father and former Minister of Trade Unions better known as Murasoli Maran) was brought to Chennai from the US in a comatose state, Mr. Kalanithi assigned 60% of Sun TV shares “without any consultation or approval from the existing majority/promoted. with other respondents and in accordance with other respondents and in accordance with other respondents and in accordance with other respondents. ”

The legal announcement warned against the commencement of all relevant civil, criminal, regulatory and enforcement proceedings, unless the requirements are met.
Since the end of Thursday (June 19, 2025), Mr. Kalanithi has not issued any public statement of a legal notice.
