Air India N Chandrasecaran Chairman dealt with plagiarism accusations that coped against the CEO and CEO of the airline, Campbell Wilson, after his condolence report after the AI-171 AI-171 tragic accident in Ahmedabad.
The chairman of the Tata Group, Chandrasecaran talked about this matter at the time, said: “We focus on solving the needs of all the disabled. But if you look into the spirit of what he said, we should take the matter at the moment.”
He added, “I heard about it (accusation of plagiarism against Campbell Wilson), I did not analyze the word with a word, but that’s something we look at.”
Plagiative charges against Air India Campbell Wilson CEO
Air India Campbell Wilson faced extensive criticism on social media after users pointed out the significant similarities between his statement about the attitude and manifestation of the CEO of American Airlines at the beginning of this year.
Both statements contained almost identical phrases, such as “this is a difficult day for all of us”, “efforts to react to emergencies” and “we are actively working with the authorities”.
While some social media users accused Campbell Wilson of Plagiarism, others claimed that the language used was a standard industrial protocol for crisis communication, suggesting that it could be more of a temporary or scripted reaction than deliberate copying.
The Campbell Wilson message was released shortly after Air India Boeing 787-8 crashed near Ahmedabad 12 June 2025 and killed 241 people. The tragedy meant one of the deadliest air disasters in recent Indian history.
Despite the will of Air India, it still has to issue an official response to plagiarism demands. Industry and experts were considered and some called a comparison of a “good perspective”, but abstained from a definitive attitude.
