The newly appointed test captain Shubman Gill explained that the victory in the overseas test series would be the highest priority when they embark on an exciting new chapter in their career. Gill said that the victory in hay countries – South Africa, England, New Zealand and Australia – would mean much more to him than winning the Premier League Indian trophy (IPL).
India has not won the test series in England since 2007. Now faces impressive England with a fresh -looking team After retirement virat kohli, Rohit Sharmaand R. Ashwin. At just 25 years, Gill becomes one of the youngest Indian test captains, but the star dough focuses high with silent confidence.
“Definitely the test series (victory in England), in my opinion,” Gill said.
“You don’t have many opportunities like a captain to come to England. You probably get two – if you’re the best of your generation, maybe three. But iPL comes every year.
When she talked to the media on the eve of the first test in Headingley, Leeds, Gill was thinking about the size of the honor of the testing party’s guidance. The dough has been replaced by Rohit Sharma and will be supported by Vice President Rishabh Pant during the series, which also refers to the beginning of the Indian World Championship in 2025–27.
“Yes, certainly. It is the greatest honor that the player can get. The captain of your country in the test cricket is something that many of them have no opportunity. I am very excited about it,” he added.
Gill scored 1,893 runs in 32 tests, including six centuries. Captain Pandjab Kings, however, fought in overseas conditions, especially in hay countries. It only average 25.70 out of 11 tests in these regions, with only two fifties – as it comes in Australia. Specifically, in England Gill managed only 88 runs in three tests on average 14.66.
Gill, who promised to separate the responsibility of the captain and launch, said he wanted to be a leading runner of the team in a series of five tests. At the same time, it emphasized the importance of building team culture rooted in safe and trust.
“Rishabh and I played a lot of cricket together. Our thinking and vision are harmonized. We want to create an environment in which everyone feels safe. We believe players do the best when they feel confident and support,” he said.
“Wait by the end of August”
Gill asked his leadership style and whether it would be influenced by the aggressive approach of England’s aggressive “Bazball”, gave a playful answer:
I think you will have to wait until August to see what our style will be, ”he joked.
Gill, however, emphasized the goal of India to maintain its impressive overseas record and noted that the current team inherited a strong plan from the previous generation of players.
Since 2015, India has received the most overseas tests (23 out of 51), with the best ratio of victory loss of 1,210-mezi by all teams during this period.
“Over the past five to ten years, we have planned from our seniors from our seniors, which shows that we can go anywhere and defeat any team. This is an approach that we will continue to follow. As far as our vision is concerned, it is about creating a positive and safe environment.
Team combination: Only six doughs?
Gill was careful when playing XI was revealed for the first test. While he confirmed that he would bat on No. 4, he did not publish the rest of the launch rules or bowling combinations. The young captain noted that the English summer began dry than usual and that on Thursday the next view of the headingley playground before the team was completed.
He stressed, however, that India would not be afraid to go with only six specialized doughs and gives his bowling group pillows to be 20 goals in the test matches.
“If you want to win the test matches, you have to take 20 goals, no matter how much scores to run. We discussed how to take 20 goals. There may be situations where we only walk with six doughs, bowling versatile, 3 to 4 premieres or proper bowers,” he said.
Gill and head coach Gautam Gambhir have been seen a detailed discussion when they checked the surface of Headingley, which is expected to provide a balanced competition between a bat and a ball.
