Former PJ Francis died in Alappuzha on Wednesday. He was 88. He died of age -related diseases. Congress leader, Mr. Francis, gained a reputation as a “giant murderer” by defeating the Communist Party of India (Marxista) (CPI (M)) veteran vs Achuthanandan in the election district of Mararaiklam by the election district in 1996. (M). Before winning in 1996, Mr. Francis unsuccessfully questioned the Aroor Assembly constituency in the 1987 and 1991 elections and whenever he lost KR Gouri of CPI (M).
