Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) on Saturday clarified that it has not announced any scheme offering free metro travel for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) fans on May 31, amid social media posts and advertisements demanding free services ahead of the IPL final.

In a statement, BMRCL said it has not approved or permitted any individual, organization or entity to promote or advertise free travel on Namma Metro for RCB supporters or any other category of passengers.

The company reiterated that all passengers must purchase valid tickets to commute. BMRCL urged the public not to rely on unauthorized social media posts, advertisements or messages and advised commuters to verify information only through official communications issued by companies.
