A minor landslide near the railway line in the capital

A minor landslide occurred between Thiruvananthapuram South Station (Nemom) and Thiruvananthapuram Central on Saturday around 3 pm following heavy rain in the region. .

The landslide forced the railways to immediately rush their engineering officers and staff to the site and the restoration work was started without delay.

After carrying out the necessary safety measures and inspecting the track, the track was certified fit for train operation at 16:10. Train No. 16366 Nagercoil – Kottayam Daily Passenger and Train No. 22627 Tiruchchirappalli – Thiruvananthapuram Intercity Express passed after ensuring track safety.

Train services in the section have been resumed with due observance of safe movement of trains, said a statement issued by the railways here on Saturday.
