
Israel-Iran conflict: India launched Sindhu operation on Wednesday, the plan of evacuation for Indian nationals stuck in Iran in the middle of the ongoing conflict of the Republic of Israel.
As the first step of Sindhu operation, India evacuated 110 Indian students from Iran.
In his statement on June 18, the Ministry of Outside said that the Center has been taking different steps in the last few days for the security and security of Indian nationals in Iran.
“Given the deteriorating situation as a result of the ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel, the Indian government has taken different steps for the safety and security of Indian nationals in Iran in the last few days,” he said.
110 students evacuated as the first step
In the first step of the Sindhu operation of the Indian Embassy, 110 students from northern Iran via Armenia have successfully evacuated.
“The Indian Embassy evacuated 110 Indian students from northern Iran and helped them in a safe transition to Armenia 17 June 2025,” Mea said.
Evacuated students traveled on the road to the Armenian capital Jerevan under the supervision of Indian missions in Iran and Armenia.
After reaching the Armenian capital, the students soon left Yerevan for a special flight at 14:45 June 18.
They will come to the new Delhi in the early morning hours of June 19th as part of the initial phases of the Sindhu operation, Mea said.
Mea Randhir Jaiswal spokesman shared pictures when students took a commercial flight.
“India corresponds to the highest priority of security and security of its nationals abroad,” he said in post X.

India will set up a 24×7 control room in the middle of Israel’s conflict
Mea also set up a 24×7 control room in Nový Delhi, which would solve problems for Indians stuck in Iran and their relatives. She also shared contact information for the control room.
