A nine -year -old boy, identified as Nashid, drowned in the Kakkad River on Wednesday evening while hunted near his house.
Class 4 student was reportedly swept through strong streams when he was hunted with a friend.
The incident occurred shortly after Nashid returned home from school. His house is located near the banks of the river, where an accident occurred. According to the locals, both boys embarked on a river for fishing as Nashid slipped randomly and fell into a swollen river.
The fire and rescue service staff, along with the locals, launched a search operation and managed to pull the boy out of the water. However, although he was hurried to the hospital, he could not be saved.
This area is experiencing continuous deductions, which made the authorities announce a holiday for schools in kakkada and nearby regions.
