In a large step towards promoting crop diversification and increasing domestic oil production in the household, Andr Pradesh has set an ambitious goal to bring 15,000 hectares during the current agricultural year in the district of Eluru.
The Minister of Civilian deliveries and district Eluru for the entrust of the Nuendl Manohar, during his visit to the prestigious Indian Institute of Oil Palm Research on Wednesday in Pedavegi during his visit to the prestigious Indian Institute of Oil Palm Research.
To ensure trouble -free implementation, a monitoring committee will be created under the chairman of the common collector at the district level. The Committee would consist of horticultural officials, representatives of five main oil palm companies and scientists from Pedavegi Research centers. Monthly meetings would be held to monitor progress, solve farmer complaints and inspection training programs.
“The Eluru district has the potential to appear as a model for growing oil palms not only in Andhra Pradesh, but throughout the country. With scientific support and policy focused on farmers, we focus on the transformation of agriculture,” Manohar said.
About 29 scientists participated in studies of oil palm palm trees on 250 acres in research infrastructure in Pedavegi. The work of the center on high -profile varieties and tissue culture was awarded as a foundation stone for increasing the crop in Andhra Pradesh, he added.
When Mr. Manohar referred to the national edible oil mission, he said that the state would align its efforts with the vision of Prime Minister Narendry Modi to reduce India’s dependence on imported edible oil. “Until 2027, Andhra Pradesh will keep the share of a lion in Indian oil palms,” he said.
Dendulurus MLA Chintamaneni Prabhakar, who was present, urged the government to stimulate the oil palm as an alternative to unpected in Delta regions such as pedalpad, citing high demand and better returns.
Among the present were the common collector of P. Dhatri Reddy, director of the research center Oil Palm Research Center Kanchar Suresh and district horticultural officer S. Rammohan.
