Former Indian cricket and head coach Ravi Shastri revealed his selection between SHARDUL Thakur and Nitish Kumar Reddy to start playing XI for English tests. India is ready to take England in five match test series from June 20. Before the versatile rubber, the team leadership faces a huge dilemma to choose, Shardul and Nitish for the first few games.
While Nitish was impressive with a bat on Border Gavascar Trophy 2024-25, Shardul was in phenomenal form on matches for a series leading to the series. Recently, Ravi Shastri shared his views on the debate and said he would choose Shardula as his first choice because of his ability to mix more.
“I would like to go with three quick pitchers, (plus) Shardul Thakur. I know it will be difficult between Shardul and Nitish Reddy, but you have to see who mixes how much. If Reddy gives you 12, 14 exceeds, then he could nod for his bats,” Shastri said.
In addition, Shastri also named his attack by three men and chose Prasidh Krishn next to Mohammed Siri and Jasprit Bumrah. The former head coach also said that the team management can also go with Arshdeep Singh if the conditions are pulled in Leeds and contribute to rocking.
“There would be three fast -mounting champions, I would go with Prasidh Krishna, I would go with Mohammed Sraji and of course Jasprit Bumrah. Added.
Both Arshdeep and Prasidh Krishna did not play the only test in England, but the first has experience in playing cricket countries under the belt because he played for the cent. It remains to see whether the team leadership will hand over the debut cap to Arshdeep or choose one of Akash Deep or Prasidh Krishna, who have so far played several tests in their career.
