The District Administration Ernakulam on Monday (June 16, 2025) informed the Kheral High Court that the renewal work on the Mullassery channel was proceeding, albeit with certain delays.
Laying was made by the head of the government’s communication S. Kannan in front of Judge Devan Ramacandran, when there were petitions that tried to prevent floods in Kochi. He said that the delay was for reasons outside the control of the district administration.
The court noted that it was pleased with the hearing that the inundation of the city had been under heavy rain in the last two days. While the city has caused well, the authorities must ensure that the flood prevention continues without obstacles.
A lawyer for Kochi Corporation said that developing work in the city is approaching completion. A railway attorney stated that he granted a corporate permit to raise 23 culverts under his inspection, of which the cleaning of 15 was completed.
