A 37 -year -old Queens man launched a violent knife attack on the Criminal Court in Manhattan on Monday morning (June 16) and slashed two court officials in what officials described as a “targeted” attack. Suspect, identified as Jonathan Wohl, was caught on the watch video to go to the building at 100 Centers Street around 9:30 in the morning before he suddenly attacked.
The New York Post gained cool shots that show how Wohl threw himself on a court officer near metal detectors, slashed him in the face, and then quickly turned to stab the other officer in his neck. The third officer was put into the barrier as he tried to intervene.
Injured officers, suspicious subdued
Despite the violent attack, several other judicial officials quickly answered when wohn to the ground and disarmed.
“Several court officials immediately rushed to stop the attacker, suppress him near the magnetometer bank, disarmed him and take him into custody,” said the spokesman of the Judicial Administration (OCA).
Injuries officers were taken to the hospital and are reportedly in a stable condition. Fees against Wohl are waiting.
Repeat the offender, known to the court employees
Sources in criminal proceedings told Post that Wohl was a well -known problem worker in a courthouse, often annoying staff.
“He always annoys judicial officers,” the police source said. “He said he wanted to kill them.”
Another judicial official repeated concerns: “He comes to the building and causes trouble, distributes court officials – but nothing like that.”
Officials confirmed that Wohl had no planned performance on Monday and his motive remains the subject of the investigation.
