The eight-hour performance of the BRS Rama Ram Ram Rama in front of the anti-corruption office on Monday, June 16, on Monday, 16th of June, as part of the Crore Formula-e agreement, Banjara Hills turned into a high-secured zone, stimulating arrest speculation and forcing the authorities to lock the key areas.
The questioning started at 10 am and was pulling for almost eight hours, confirming that the KTR was grilled regarding the nature of the financial transactions.
He was also ordered to present all the mobile phones he used in 2021 and 2023. “Phones are required to be submitted in the investigation,” ACB officer said. When the officer asked about his next summons, he said that the Bureau is now analyzing his answers and formulating them before accepting another call on the probe.
Security around road no. 12, Banjara Hills, was increased from early morning. The sophisticated Bandobast group included one DCP, six ACP, three other SPS, about 20 inspector officers, 32 sub-insectors and 12 squads.
Shops in the area, including the popular Café Niloufer, were ordered for about 30 minutes by the police, even though customers were sitting inside. The gates of Telangana Bhavan, located next to the integrated command and control center, were temporarily locked.
The roads leading to the ACB office were barricaded, with the public and the media initially pushed 300 meters back. Journalists were later allowed to cover the events from the 100 meters circuit. Only Mr. Kt Rama Rao and his advocate were allowed for barricades.
Despite Clampdown, a crowd of BRS cadres began to gather. The tension was cooked throughout the day as speculation about possible arrest was taken over. After the question, Mr. Rama Rao got a loud reception in Telangana Bhavan, while the workers tore the biscuits on the premises to celebrate.
The ARM was registered against Mr. Rama Raom on December 19, 2024 in relation to a suspicious inconsistency in the planning and implementation of the Formula-E event in February 2023.
