“Gift from Mera Diwali kahan hai?” Gurugram Police Takes ‘Actions’ Against Home Guard After Viral Money-seeking Video | Today’s news

The Gurugram police on Sunday said they were taking “disciplinary action” against the home guard after a video showed him allegedly looking for a Diwali “gift” from a content creator who was stopped near a check post, ASI Sandeep Kumar told LiveMint. The home guard appeared to be looking for cash and refused to accept payment through UPI.

Content creator Vikas Dayal shared a video on Instagram on Saturday showing an interaction with a home guard. The video shows the home guard exchanging Diwali greetings with Dayal before the conversation turns to a gift.

Dayal posted on Instagram, “Where’s my Diwali gift? Happy Diwali.”

What does the video show?

The maker initially tells the home guard that he doesn’t carry his wallet. When the home guard asks what happened, Dayal offers to send the money through UPI. But the officer replies, “No, no. I don’t do UPI”.

The house guard first examines the things stored behind the seat where Dayal’s sister was sitting. The conversation then moves to the Diwali bin. When the officer asks about the gift, Dayal says, “It’s a Diwali gift.” It also states that it contains silver objects.

At one point, Dayal tells him that a gift should not be asked for.

The interaction ended with the home guard letting them go after accepting the basket.

The Internet is responding

One social media user commented: “So bad seriously.” Another asked, “Sarkari salary nahi aati kya inki (“Don’t they get government salary?”).

An Instagram user also commented: “Same thing happened to me near Cyberhub, Golf Course road.”
