BC Roads and Buildings Minister Janardhan Reddy said that YSRCP President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy should accept the people’s mandate as the MPTC and ZPTC elections have shown that the people of Andhra Pradesh favor development.
In a statement issued after the MPTC and ZPTC election results were announced on Saturday, the minister said the victory of the alliance candidates across the state was a testament to the aspirations of the people.
“Even in the Rayalaseema region, often considered a YSRCP stronghold, people have extended their support to NDA candidates,” he said.
“Results are another setback for YSRCP which has lost people’s trust. Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy who cannot accept defeat in local polls is making false claims about elections. He must learn to respect people’s mandate,” the minister said.
The public wants development-oriented governance and welfare provided by an alliance government led by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy CM K. Pawan Kalyan and IT Minister Nara Lokesh, Mr. Janardhan Reddy said.
“The results of the local body elections show that people support development, prosperity and good governance,” he said, expressing confidence that the public will give a similar verdict in the upcoming panchayat (sarpanch) elections.
