Jana Sena MPTC contestant dies of cardiac arrest hours before counting of votes in East Godavari

28-year-old Jana Sena Party MPTC candidate Garapati Divya died of cardiac arrest hours before the counting of votes in Damanthunigidem Panchayat of Devarapalli Mandal in East Godavari district on Saturday (November 7, 2026).

On Friday evening (November 6, 2026), Divya was admitted to a private hospital immediately after she complained of chest pain.

That night, Divya was declared dead due to cardiac arrest during treatment.

A gloom descended on her panchayat as the death left her supporters in shock.

Meanwhile, Divya’s last rites are scheduled for Saturday morning while her votes are being counted. All eyes are on the Damanthunigidem Panchayat result.
