Star West Indies Dough Nicholas Pooran could call time for his international career, but that had no effect on the T20i team against Ireland on June 15. On the back of the incredible opening partnership Evin Lewis and Shai Hope on Sunday, their second highest total T20i was hit.
Windies scored a total of 256 runs for losing 5 goals, just two runs shortly from their highest total number in T20is – 258/5, which came against South Africa in 2023. Lewis and Hope added 122 runs in just 10.3 overs before Barry McCarthy against the edge. Windies then lost a little momentum, but eventually ended strong and hit 60 runs in the last three overs. Keacy Carta, which began slowly, turned on at the end and had great help from Romario Shepherd, who ended up with 19* of only 6 balls.
The Irish pitchs were taken to cleaning agents. With the exception of Matthew Humphreys, who ended up with an incredible 2/16, the rest numbers did not make a good reading. Liam McCarthy, on the debut, was hammered at 0/81-second the worst character in the history of T20is at his four breaks.
Evin Lewis was a star star and hit 91 of only 44 balls. He was released on the second ball 13. Via and fell in the nineties of the nineties. Despite the fact that Lewis dropped 9 short centuries, he was able to create a team for his huge sum.
That was the third and last T20i series. The previous two matches were dismissed without bowing to the ball due to bad weather.

Pooran’s unexpected announcement came only a few days after he asked to relax from the White-Ball series in England, after his obligations with Super Giants Lucknow in the Indian Premier League 2025 (IPL).
