The Chamarajanagara Agricultural Produce Market Committee on Thursday opened a green gram procurement center at its Santhemarahalli sub-divisional office to purchase farm produce under the government’s Minimum Support Price (MSP) scheme.

Produce meeting the Fair Average Quality (FAQ) standards – relating to moisture content, foreign matter and damaged grains – will be procured from this center at a price of ₹ 8,780 per quintal. The production will be procured by Karnataka State Cooperative Marketing Federation, Bengaluru. The amount will be credited to the bank account linked to the farmer’s Aadhaar card.

Farmers must submit copies of their Rights, Tenancy and Crop (RTC) records, Aadhaar cards, bank passbooks and passport size photographs along with their FRUIT ID at the time of registration.

Only farmers whose names are mentioned in the RTC as green gram cultivators are eligible to avail this facility.

The purchase will continue for 90 days while the registration will remain open for 80 days.

Under MSP, a maximum of four cents per acre will be taken, with an overall cap of 20 cents per farmer.
