IPL: CSK and SRH in 4-player trade deal, swap Liam Livingstone, Khaleel Ahmed

Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad have made significant changes to their squads ahead of IPL 2027, completing a four-player swap with Liam Livingstone and Jack Edwards moving to Chennai while Khaleel Ahmed and Nathan Ellis head to Hyderabad.

The deal brings Livingstone to CSK for INR 6 crore, less than half of the INR 13 crore SRH initially signed the English all-rounder for. His ability to clear boundaries and offer spin options could add another dimension to Chennai’s middle order.

Edwards will join him for his existing fee of INR 3 crore. The Australian seam-bowling all-rounder is yet to make his IPL debut as he has missed the 2026 season due to a leg injury.

For SRH, the arrival of Khaleel and Ellis is about their pace bowling resources. Khaleel returns to the franchise after two seasons with CSK, which he represented from 2018 to 2021. He had a productive IPL 2025, picking up 15 wickets in 14 matches, but managed just five matches the following season before a right quadriceps injury ended his campaign.

Meanwhile, Ellis will reach INR 2 crore. The Australian has built a reputation for his variations and ability to spell death, which gives SRH another option in the pace department.

Khaleel’s current fee is INR 4.8 crore, which means SRH have brought in two Australian and Indian pace options as part of the deal, which also sees them part ways with Livingstone and Edwards.
