The Supreme Court (SC) awarded the bail and ordered the immediate release of the higher journalist Komneni Srinivas Rao, who was arrested on 9 June after the prefab allegedly made several inappropriate comments on women from Amaravati.
This took place during the live show Sakshi TV that Mr. Rao moderated.
The Supreme Court approved the order for the request of Mr. Rao, who challenged his arrest.
Partial working day Bench Justices Prashant Kumar Misra and Manmohan ordered the release of 70 -year -old Rao, who was arrested on June 9, and noted that he did not make a statement on his show and was one of the panelists who made alleged derogatory notes.
The bench that challenged the government of Andhra Pradesh during arrest said that it was necessary for Mr. Ra’s journalistic rights to be protected and his fundamental right to freedom of speech.
“The petitioner himself did not state a statement of a live television show and his journalistic rights must be protected to protect his freedom of speech.
But the bench asked Rao not to make any derogatory statement about his show or could do the same to anyone else.
Police Andhra Pradesh on Monday (June 9, 2025) arrested Mr. Rao of Hyderabad for hosting the program, where alleged contemptuous remarks against the capital Greenfield Amaravati were made.
The comments were made by one of the prefabs in the TV show organized by Mr. Raem 6 June.
People from different sections and regions filed several complaints about debate with the police, which allegedly contained derogatory comments on women from the Amaravati region.
The main Minister of N. Chandrababa Naida said in his statement that there was an unwavering crime under the pretext of political vendettes and media analysis. He warned that all who crossed all the borders to injure women’s sentiments in a harmful conspiracy against the capital would face serious consequences.
