Rajanna can leave the party if he wishes: Balakrishna

Congress leader and Urban Administration Minister HC Balakrishna on Tuesday hit out at Congress leader and MLA KN Rajanna, saying he can quit the party if he wishes and accused him of “betraying the party while he was part of it”.

This comes in the backdrop of Mr Rajanna’s son and MLC R Rajendra’s recent meeting with JD(S) leader and Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy.

Talking to reporters in Chitradurga, he said, “If Mr. Rajanna wants to leave the party and join another party, he can do so. Let him answer honestly whether his son fought the elections fairly. The election process was not over when he took a photo with Mr. Kumaraswamy. If the Congress party does not pay attention to such issues, it may face serious problems in the party in the future. Mr. Rajanna is a party. He does not belong to any person He has engaged in anti-party activities and strict action should be taken against him.
