Nobody has the courage, says HDK, the police dares to take action against him

A day after the Bengaluru city police claimed that a “sting” targeting former chief minister Siddaramaiah was exchanged at his Delhi residence, Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy on Monday (November 2, 2026) allowed the police to act against him while refuting the claim.

Hours before Mr Kumaraswamy’s press conference where he claimed no action had been taken against the perpetrators of the stabbing video, the Central Crime Branch (CCB) of Bengaluru police searched the residence and office of Power TV CEO Rakesh Shetty. The searches were carried out by several teams of investigators after obtaining search warrants from the court.

Addressing Chief Minister DK Shivakumar in his press conference, Mr Kumaraswamy accused him of meeting and conspiring with the accused to distribute former MP Hassan Prajwal Revanna’s “spoof” videos.

Accusing Bengaluru police commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh of acting on the chief minister’s instructions, he told the media, “Many people visit my residence and there is no restriction on attendance. I don’t know who the police commissioner is referring to.” He dared to call the police to investigate and said that “nobody has the guts” to touch him. He also urged the Bengaluru police to reveal the location from where they arrested a man allegedly linked to him in the sting operation.

Complaints by mail

He said there is a suspicion that the investigation is not being conducted objectively. “The victim complained to the Karnataka State Commission for Protection of Child Rights. The complaint was not addressed then. The people behind the stabbing went to Kerala with the intention of meeting the woman for an interview,” he added.

Incidentally, Congress leader Kripa Alva was the chairman of the commission from 2015 to 2018 during Mr. Siddaramaiah’s first term. Mrs. Alva, who was interrogated by the police, was expelled from Congress.

“There are reports that the woman who leveled serious allegations against the former chief minister has changed her statement. If this is true, why is she not being produced before the court? If she has changed her statement, she is part of the conspiracy behind the sting operation. She too should be named as an accused,” he said.

“Instead of a proper investigation, the police are content to give Mr. Siddaramaiah a clean brush. Why are the police still investigating whether the sting operation is fake? Why the main accused in the sting operation, Rakesh Shetty, has not been arrested yet,” he asked.
