Matheus Cunha officially completed his “dream” move to Manchester United from Wolverhampton Wanderers in an agreement worth 63 million. Brazil International signed a five -year contract in Old Trafford with the possibility of another year.
Cunha, 26, was in an international service with Brazil, presented in a free draw against Ecuador before playing a key role in their victory 1-0 over Paraguay, where he helped the decisive goal of the vineyard junior. Now back from South America, he gave his first interview since he describes the pen on paper as lifelong ambitions.
“It is difficult to express my feelings about becoming Manchester United,” Cunha said. “Since I was a child in Brazil, the Premier League has been watching my grandmother’s home on TV, United was my favorite English team and I dreamed of wearing a red shirt.
“I can’t wait to get to know my teammates and prepare for the season in advance. Everything we focus on hard work to become a valuable part of the team and help get this club back to the top.”
Manchester United has launched a clause about the release of CunhaReportedly worth approximately 62.5 million, which means record sales of wolves. It surpasses 53 million Manchester City for Matheus Nunes in 2023.
During his time in Molineux Cunha scored 33 goals and gave 15 assists in 92 performances. Last season he was especially impressive in the Premier League, counted 15 goals and established himself as one of the standouts of attacking talents of the division.
Football director United Jason Wilcox expressed his pleasure in ensuring Cunho’s signature at the beginning of the transfer window.
“Matheus was one of our main priorities for this summer, so we are pleased that we completed its signature so soon in the window,” Wilcox said.
“He showed his ability to succeed in the Premier League as one of the most interesting and productive attackers in England during his time in Wolves.
“It has all the features we are looking for because we are trying to build a strong, dynamic and entertaining team that is capable of demanding for the greatest honor.”
United will hope that Cunha can help trigger a Fortunes turnover after the disappointment of 2024/25 of the campaign that saw that they ended up on the 15th place in the Premier League with only 42 points.
