Fake posts: MV Govindan seeks legal action

Communist Party of India (Marxist) state secretary MV Govindan has filed a complaint with the state police chief seeking legal action against those who have been spreading fake posts on his behalf.

The posts alleged that Mr. Govindan was speaking against Nafeesathul Misriya, Vice-President of the College Union of Maharaja’s College, Ernakulam. The fake posts claimed that Mr. Govindan had said that Ms. Misriya had an SDPI background, was a former Campus Front activist and held extreme views, Mr. Govindan said in a statement here on Monday.

Students of Maharaja’s College raised the issue of suspension of students of Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, Kalady. The fake cards in the name of Mr. Govindan were issued to insult these students, the statement said.

Mr. Govindan sought that cases be registered against those who created fake posters with the intention of creating strife and enmity in the society.
