HYDRAA clears Fox Sagar FTL lake encroachments
The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency on Monday demolished structures and compound walls allegedly encroaching on the Full Tank Level (FTL) of Fox Sagar Lake as part of its efforts to restore the water body.
The agency has taken serious note of the construction of a dam stretching almost half a kilometer within the FTL limits of the lake. The compound wall built along the ramparts to delimit the estate was demolished and iron fencing erected in some places.
On the other side of the lake, HYDRAA demolished the enclosure wall of a farm belonging to the family members of former minister Ch. Malla Reddy in Dulapally village. The wall was built after the FTL sections and buffer zones were filled with soil and a gate was also installed.
The encroachment was identified in survey number 124 where the FTL of the lake encroaches on the property. HYDRAA stated that the composite wall was removed because it fell within the reported FTL limits. It was found that nearly 15 acres of land belonging to the Mallareddy family was enclosed in the FTL of the lake.
The agency also removed a compound wall spanning nearly 20 acres within FTL limits in survey number 41 and 42 at Jeedimetl.
