KTR: KCR will come back to save farmers from Congress

BRS working president KT Rama Rao urged the farmers to remain patient for one more year as the party was set to return to Telangana and K. Chandrashekhar Rao would return as Chief Minister to save them.

The BRS will continue to fight for its rights and put pressure on the Congress government, which has “brought drought to Telangana with a reckless administration to malign KCR”, he said.

Addressing a Rythu Garjana public meeting in Adilabad on Sunday, KTR said it was a Congress-created drought as Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka, despite having almost double the rainfall deficit compared to Telangana, did not face similar drought conditions. The Congress government could not escape responsibility by citing El Nino, he said.

Mr. Rama Rao demanded that each farmer be given ₹60,000 per acre, including the three installments of Rythu Bharosa withheld by the Congress government and investment assistance payable for the current Yasangi season.

He asked the Congress government to take responsibility for the drought-like conditions prevailing in Telangana as they deliberately released 750 TMC water in Godavari just to malign Mr. KCR. He also criticized the government for neglecting the canal work of the Chanaka-Korata project.

KTR accused the Congress government of weakening the power sector, damaging Singareni with alleged coal irregularities and failing to protect the industry. He questioned the closure and dismantling of the CCI factory in Adilabad and the alleged shifting of Telangana industries to Gujarat.

He termed the Congress and the BJP as “partners in neglect” and criticized the BJP-led union government for not providing Adilabad with national projects, medical and nursing colleges and major educational institutions. Earlier, KTR also extended financial assistance of ₹1,000 each on behalf of BRS to the families of five children who died in the recent fire at RIMS Hospital in Adilabad.
