The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) on Friday demanded that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe alleged irregularities in the District Selection Committee (DSC) recruitment process and sought the removal of Education Minister Nara Lokesh over the matter.

The demand was made during a protest organized by the student wing of the party near the statue of Dr. BR Ambedkar at Daba Gardens. According to party leaders, the program was held on the call of former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. The participants paid floral tributes to Dr. Ambedkar before holding a demonstration.

Addressing the rally, YSRCP Visakhapatnam district president KK Raju alleged that the coalition government has not fulfilled its promises to the unemployed youth. He said the alliance had promised job opportunities for 40 lakh unemployed persons and a monthly unemployment allowance of ₹3,000 until jobs were secured, but failed to honor these commitments after coming to power. He also alleged that candidates who secured eligibility for the DSC exams on merit were subjected to injustice and called for a CBI inquiry into the recruitment process.

Mr. Raju alleged that the government had neglected the commitments made during the election campaign and demanded that it disclose the number of jobs created in both the public and private sectors since it assumed office. He alleged that the alleged irregularities had caused anxiety among the job seekers and asserted that the YSRCP would continue to raise issues concerning those affected.

Among those present were coordinators former MLA Vasupalli Ganesh Kumar, MLC Varudu Kalyani and Kumbha Ravibabu; and several party leaders and activists.
