Application launched for effective coordination during election bandobus

Anantapur District Police has taken a new initiative by integrating technology in the organization of election bandobuses.

According to Superintendent of Police P. Jagadeesh, a special mobile application ‘Ananta Kavach’ has been developed to further strengthen the election security system. Launching the new app, Mr. Jagadeesh said around 1,500 police personnel and all polling stations have been integrated into a single digital system to ensure effective police coordination.

All the polling stations in the district have been mapped along with the location of CCTV cameras installed there. Live locations of mobile groups deployed at various locations are continuously received at the command control center.

A facility has been provided to register any issue directly through the app, either by police personnel working in the field or from the command control centre.

Mr. Jagadeesh said that in case of any law and order problem or emergency anywhere, information can be reported through the app. Alerts will be sent immediately to the three mobile parties closest to the incident location. This allows nearby police teams to respond immediately and bring the situation under control.

According to the SP, special attention is also paid to the needs of police officers who work around the clock during election duties. A facility has also been provided for staff to submit their food requests through the same app. These innovative measures ensure that emphasis is placed not only on service delivery but also on the welfare of police personnel.

“By bringing every polling station, every police personnel and every mobile party under one system during elections, coordination will be set to be more efficient. The app will go a long way in preventing unexpected incidents by ensuring that information reaches the command control center quickly and immediate response from police forces in the vicinity,” the SP said.

With the objective of conducting peaceful and transparent elections in the district, Mr. Jagadeesh said that technology is being used effectively to further strengthen and modernize the functioning of the district police department.
