108 students found consuming alcohol at Chevella Farm, four tested positive for ganja

Police on Friday evening found 108 students consuming alcohol at a farm in Kammeta village under Chevella police limits, with four of them testing positive for ganja consumption.

Telangana Excise Rules require a permit to serve liquor at private functions including farm parties, with violations subject to action under applicable excise laws.

The Chevella Police and the Special Operations Team (SOT) jointly raided the LG farm after receiving credible information. The students were from ICFAI and IBS Colleges and included 71 boys and 37 girls, police said.

The students were found consuming alcohol without the required permits, according to police. Drug screening tests conducted during the raid showed that four people tested positive for cannabis.

The police seized 15 grams of ganja, seven cars, three motorcycles and 70 mobile phones from the estate.

Chevella Police Station Inspector Narendra Reddy said a case has been registered and a detailed investigation is underway. Further legal action would be taken in accordance with the law.
