
(Bloomberg) – California’s Labor leader David Huert was charged with federal crime, accused of interfering with the right to enforce the right after joining the protest against immigration arrests in Los Angeles.
Huerta runs United Service Workers International United Service International Union West, representing more than 45,000 workers, including administrators, security officers and airport employees. He is also president of the chapter Seiu in California.
He was arrested on Friday when the protest broke out at the beginning of the series of immigration and customs enforcement of coercive operations in the center of Los Angeles around and around. On Monday, the federal prosecutors accused him of a single number of plots to interfere with an officer, a crime that can be punished by up to six years in prison. SEIA said, “Huerta was attacked, injured and detained in defending for immigrants.” The Union said it was taken to the hospital on Friday and then moved to federal detention.
SEIA condemned Huert’s arrest and there is a protest in LA. The Union said the demonstrations were also organized in more than a dozen of cities across the country, including San Francisco, Chicago, Washington and New York.
Huerta is a well -known leader of Laboristics in the State and his work was praised by the Obama administration. Democratic officials, including the leader of the minority of the Senate Chuck Schumer and Senators of California Adam Schiff and Alex Padilla, demanded the answer of Trump’s administration to questions about the arrest of Huerta.

National trade unions representing millions of workers also gather for Huerta.
The Longshore and Warehouse International Union, which represents 44,000 workers up and down along the west coast, called for its release and the “end of destructive ice”. AFL-Cio, whose associated entities represent nearly 15 million workers, also demanded the release of Huerta.
Officials ICE and the Ministry of Internal Security repeatedly threatened to arrest anyone who believes it interferes with the promotion of immigration.
