New Delhi: Former English captain Michael Vaughan believes that the name of 25 -year -old Shaubman Gill as a new Indian captain of the test is a “courageous pull” after sudden retirement of Stalwart Rohit Sharma and Virata Kohli from Criket Red Ball. Gill will lead India in the first assignment of the World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-27-series five matches against England from June 20 in Leeds. Wicketkeeper-Batter Rishabh Pant has been named Vice-Capital.When Rohit and Kohli resigned from the longest format, responsibility for anchoring Indian tabs now falls on the shoulders of the gills, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Kl Rahul and Pant.Vaughan said Gill made sense to prove, especially in overseas, but supported the temperament of the young opener to handle pressure.
