The results Uttar Pradesh The MLC (Member of the Legislative Council) elections for 11 seats, including both graduate and teacher constituencies, have left a lot to ponder for the state BJP going into the assembly polls early next year, not least because the party may have to dump more than half of its existing MLAs.

While the BJP captured six of the 11 seats in the fray and fared better than its rival, the Samajwadi Party (SP), there are worries for the BJP within this meta-narrative.
