On Tuesday, Nestlé India launched the Integrated Village Development Program (IVDP) in Nanjangud in the presence of Nanjangud MLA Darshan Dhruvanarayan.
The program aims to strengthen village-level infrastructure and improve quality of life through a series of community-led interventions, including improvement of schools and Anganwadis, installation of reverse osmosis (RO) water purification units, restoration of ponds and other development initiatives, a statement said here.
IVDP seeks to reaffirm the company’s commitment to promoting inclusive and sustainable community development.
Apart from Mr. Darshan Dhruvanarayan, Rodrigo Aja Prado, factory manager, Kalale Keshavamurthy, former MLA, and other key government officials attended the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Dhruvanarayan said that sustainable rural development requires collective efforts and focus on the needs of local communities. “Initiatives like Nestlé India’s Integrated Village Development Program can play an important role in strengthening basic infrastructure and improving access to vital services,” he said.
Factory manager Rodrigo Aja Prado said the company believes “meaningful community development begins with understanding local needs and working together to address them.”
Through the Integrated Village Development Programme, the company aims to support communities through interventions including education, access to safe drinking water and restoration of local resources.
The initiative underscores the importance of collaboration between industry, government and communities in building a more inclusive and sustainable future, the company’s statement added.
