Minister Andr Pradesh N. Chandrababu Naida said he was convinced that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would deal with the fears of the southern states, that any definition based only on the population would reduce their representation in parliament. The Teluga side of Desam Mr. Naida is a key part of the ruling National Democratic Alliance led by BJP in the center.
“I am 100 % self -confident in the wisdom of the Prime Minister. He will cooperate with everyone and then participate in the ascents (definition),” he said.

Mr. Naida spoke with Hindu in his private home in a wide range of questions when he finished the first year of his third term as the main minister, which began on June 12, 2024. Mr. Naida played a critical role in 2001 in 2001. At that time in power and Mr. Naida was also a key partner.
“That time also … because of sentiment (southern states) it was done … At that time we thought we were able to control the population in South India … That’s good. Now North India will control the population. (Regarding) Definition, a suitable policy will come. They will solve it. This was our concept at that time also (in 2001). This time it will also happen, “he said. Asked if the current government of NDA is as sensitive as the Vajpayee government in this regard, Mr. Naida said:“ … 100%.
Mr. Naida said he was discussing demographic changes “wide” at meetings in Niti Aayog, but he had no opportunity to talk to the prime minister of this issue. “No, not yet. The time has not yet come (talking to Mr. Modi). At the right time (I will speak),” he said in response to the question.
According to the constitutional amendment in 2001, after the first census after 2026, another definition of the interstate state will be held. He announced with the center that the fresh census would end at the beginning of 2027, the southern states repeated their request for “fair definition”. Asked what he thought about the demand of his counterparts in the other four southern states, Mr. Naida said: “… the problem has not come. The demand is administered too early … At a suitable time (it should be discussed).
Mr. Naida repeated his call for faster population growth, where he slowed. “South India must be demographic management. The population is decreasing here, older populations are increasing … Migration will occur. Now we have to promote the population growth in a big way … a very difficult task …” he said. Asked if he was considering any motivation for more children, the main minister said that such experiments were not successful in any part of the world. “Southern India has had advanced thinking, for the management of the population and also economic progress. People now have no children. So we need (go inside) the other way around. We have to think about the management of the population. You have to do it,” he said.
