Palaniswami, Dhinakaran urges the Tamil Nadu government to reduce the hike in the prices of dairy by-products

AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami noted that the TVK regime in Tamil Nadu had given the gift of ‘Vettri Deepavali’ to the people by increasing the prices of two dozen dairy by-products.

In a post on his social media, he wondered about the government’s mindset in raising prices knowing that people would buy more ghee and sweets during Deepavali. Businessmen would increase their sales by giving concessions to the public, but this government acted as the “corporate villain” in feature films.

AMMK founder TTV Dhinakaran asked if the price hike was a result of Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay’s recent visit to the dairy. He expressed shock at the authorities’ decision, saying it would put an additional economic burden on people who are already struggling to meet their daily needs amid inflation.

Both leaders called on the government to roll back the price hike.
