FATHI calls on the government. for release of RTF fees
The Federation of Associations of Universities in Telangana (FATHI) on Tuesday urged the state government to immediately release the pending payment of fees and scholarship dues.
In a statement to the government, FATHI said unpaid fees from previous academic years, combined with claims for 2026-27, affected the universities’ ability to pay staff salaries, meet statutory obligations and maintain academic infrastructure. Both teaching and non-teaching staff have also been affected by the delay, while some students who have graduated are said to be facing problems in obtaining certificates and academic records.
FATHI has highlighted concerns about amounts paid to graduates’ personal bank accounts, which institutions say they are unable to recover. She also expressed concern about the backlog of fees for eligible minority students.
The association urged the government to deposit the graduate compensation amounts directly into the bank accounts of the respective institutions after verification, release at least 50% of recognized long-pending arrears and settle all outstanding compensation and scholarship fees for minority students.
