Dasara’s unsung heroes will be honored with a special lunch

Around 2,000 pourakarmikas who helped keep Mysuru clean during Dasara 2026 will be hosted by Urban Development and Mysuru District Minister Yathindra Siddaramaiah for a special lunch at Rajendra Kalamandira on Wednesday.

The program, scheduled for Wednesday afternoon, is to recognize the contribution of civic workers who worked round the clock to keep the city clean during the 10-day festival that attracted thousands of tourists and visitors.

Pourakarmikas played a key role in keeping main roads, traffic circles, public spaces, festival venues and procession routes clean during the celebrations, which helped Mysuru maintain its reputation as a clean city, according to a press release.

The lunch is organized as a gesture of gratitude to the pourakarmikas. The minister is expected to interact with them and thank them for their dedicated service.

The initiative also seeks to recognize the role of pourakarmikas in successfully conducting major public events and encourage them to continue their efforts.
