CPI Secretary General (M) Ma Baby on Friday (June 6, 2025) called on the Union’s government to convene all parties to deal with the concerns of several states to lose the representation in Lok Sabha because it is expected to be held on the basis of the upcoming general census.

At the end of the first meeting of the newly elected Central Committee of the party, Mr. Baby addressed a press conference in Delhi. “The central government after a deliberate and disproportionate delay was finally forced to announce that in 2027 it would perform the general census and along with the census. Different concerns are expressed, in particular the southern states on the intentions of the government,” the government said, “the government said.
Mr. Baby also reported that CPI (M) organizes a weekly campaign against terrorism in June, in addition to sending a delegation led by him next week. Other members of the delegation include members of Lok Sabha amra RAM, K. Radhakrishnan and SU Venkatesan and Rajya Sabha John Brittas, Bikash Ranjan Bhattacaryya and Aa Rahim. Mr. Baby criticized the government’s claim that he founded a “new normal” with the Sindoor operation, where he would consider every terrorist attack against India to be an attack by Pakistan. He said, “This means that terrorists will now dictate relationships in India-Pak.” This approach, would only support Jingoism, strengthened the extremist forces on both sides of the border and further expanded the municipal abyss.
The left side said it would be held “Defense of Democracy” to mean 50 years of emergency statement, adding that the opportunity will be used to “reveal the dubious RSS role in an emergency”.
The decision was adopted at the CPI Central Committee (m) held in the capital of the national capital from 3 to 5 June.
