Good in front of the monsoon rains followed by early onset of the southwestern monsoon, the hopes for good harvesting and the yield of crops among farmers in Mandya.
In view of the favorable weather conditions, the agricultural department has set the goal during the monsoon season cultivation of 1.66,590 hectares. Representative of the Commissioner Kumar said the area that is cultivated in the period before the monsoon and the monsoon will be 1.92 103 hectares.

The Life Lines of the Mandya district is the Kishnaraja Sagar reservoir, and due to heavy rains in the river basin, the dam is expected to reach a full level of 124.80 feet at the beginning of this year. The water level of 6 June was 107.68 ft.
In conjunction with a convenient storage position in the tank, the district was still blessed by a abundant rain. Compared to normal precipitation 176.7 mm for the period from 1 April to 6 June, the district received 247.7 mm. Normal precipitation for April is 46.6 mm, against which the district received 82.2 mm, and in May received 161.2 mm rainfall against normal 99.9 mm.
The demand for seeds of various crops estimated during the current season is 11,256 quintes, while for Paddy it was 8 522 Quintals. Shares available at various warehouses of Karnataka State Seed Corporation (KSSC), National Seed Corporation (NSC), VC Farm, etc., were 18 138 QuintTals.
On the basis of taluk-wound requirements, 6,544 quintes of non-peigrated seeds and 2,053 ragi quintes or semen were ordered from the KSSC, while 2,298 songs of non-pebble seeds will be obtained from the NSC.
In the district there are 31 Raitha Sampark Kendras, in addition to 16 organizations of farmers’ producers (FPO) and 80 primary agricultural cooperative companies through which the seeds will be distributed.
The district administration also excluded the lack of fertilizers and established demand to 73,065 metric tons. This includes 32,543 MT for April to June.
Farmers were also invited to apply for crops within Pradhan Mantri Fa Fasal Bima Yojan and will be made efforts to increase crop insurance in the district, Dr.Kumar said. The joint director of agriculture Vsashok and others were present.
