Andhra Pradesh Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister Ponguru Narayana has called a fake audio clip doing the rounds on social media in which he allegedly tells Telugu Desam Party (TDP) workers to “support only BJP candidates but not Jana Sena Party (JSP) candidates in six seats as per party orders” and that “their deposits” in the upcoming municipal elections should be forfeited.
Alliance officials in Nellore expressed strong outrage over the clip, terming it a false propaganda by the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) that is creating rifts among them.
Mr Narayana termed the audio as fake when he spoke to the media on Monday (October 26, 2026) along with MP Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy, Nellore Rural MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy, BJP leader Vamsidhar Reddy and JSP leader Vemulapati Ajaya Kumar in the media.
The minister said, “We will make Nellore the top most developed city in the country. The development that started under the TDP government is now continuing again under the present Alliance government.”
#YCPFakeBrathuku The audio clip doing the rounds in the name of Minister Shri Ponguru Narayan is fake propaganda! This is part of Goddali Party Paytm Coolies fake campaign. A comment/audio in the name of Minister Shri Ponguru Narayan is going viral on social media platforms and WhatsApp groups to create discord among the alliance leaders and stakeholders. Minister Shri Narayana made no such comments. Along with Nellore, Telugu Desam, Janasena and Bharatiya Janata Party leaders and activists across the state work in full coordination and cooperate with each other in campaigns and local body elections. Ax party Paytm workers unable to cope with the public support of explaining social and development works during the election campaign are resorting to fake campaigns and making fake recordings. We request you not to believe and share baseless fake audio and news on Goddali Party social media and WhatsApp groups. #PsychoFekuJagan #AndhraPradesh

“People should consider and compare what happened during the tenure of the YSRCP government with what is happening now. The previous government failed to complete the remaining five percent underground drainage (UGD) works,” he said.
Mr. Narayana promised to complete the UGD works in the city by June 12, 2027 and make it a mosquito-free city. Even though the treasury is empty, funds are being sanctioned immediately on the request of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, he said.
MP Vemireddy Prabhakar said, “The public should take note of the development initiatives being undertaken by the Alliance government. Minister Narayana provides substantial funds and drives development, while MLA Kotamreddy solves any problem, no matter how difficult it may be.”
“Both Narayana and Kotamreddy are working hard for the development of the city. Today we can see well-built roads, excellent parks and a closed drainage system,” Mr. Prabhakar said, urging people to ensure the victory of the Alliance candidates in the local body elections.
Mr. Kotamreddy said, “In 36 divisions under Nellore Rural constituency, TDP candidates were elected unanimously in eight divisions. In many places, YSRCP candidates withdrew from the race leaving behind only bogus candidates.”
“YSRCP leaders fear defeat and resort to conspiracy politics. No matter how many conspiracies are hatched, the Alliance parties will emerge victorious. YSRCP leaders should refrain from spreading false propaganda,” he added.
Mr. Vemulapati said that the development of Nellore was possible only because of the victory of the alliance parties. He criticized the YSRCP for allegedly shamefully trying to gain electoral advantage through false propaganda.
