49 -year -old Walter has been high on the list of preferred candidates in New Zealand since he decided to chase another coach of all formats and expelled the stead who led the black cap at the World Championship.“Rob is a first -class trainer with an excellent pedigree,” said NZC Director Scott Weenink. “His success in a home game in New Zealand in combination with his recent achievements on the global scene with the South Africa Republic makes him an ideal candidate for black cap management.”Walter’s Treaty means that the black cap will lead to the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games, as well as the three major ICC tournaments, including the World Cup 2027.
