Planting seedlings, establishment of mini forests and green islets marked with the celebrations of the Environment Day in Ernacula on Thursday.
Archdiocese of Varappuzha HERE, Archbishop Varappuzha Joseph Kalatiparamtil handed over the seedlings of the vetiver M. Anilkumar.
Seedlings will be planted in the locality of the civic body in Brahmapurama, where bioming was performed to remove piles of waste, according to the issue issued here. The mayor also solemnly carried out the cleaning and environmental initiative of the Archdiocese of Varappuzha.

Morada’s city authorities have launched works for the establishment of green islands containing fruit trees to celebrate the Day of Environment. It was set up near the material collection facility near the 16th division in the village. Antony Ashanparamtil, chairman, planted various seedlings of fruit trees.
The District Collector of NSK UMESH launched the Green Islet project in nearly four centers in the premises of the civilian station in Kakkanad by planting seedlings. Traditional fruit trees will be planted on the site as part of a joint project concerning the district administration, Harith Keralam Mission, Thrikkara, the villages and Rotary Club.
The project “Changathkor Maram” was launched at the Senior High School Don Bosco as part of the Harith Keralam Mission and Kochi Corporation program. Students exchanged trees as part of a green initiative.
“Youcanheal”, the application for dashboard of computer applications and recognized by the Ministry of the Environment and climate change and Kochi Corporation, was launched in the program held here at the College St. Teresa’s College. The theme of the event, organized by the Bhoomitra Sena Club, the Department of Zoology and the SAC Unit 41, was “to beat plastic pollution and support renewable energy”.
