The TG-iPASS portal will be restored within two days after the cyber attack

HYDERABAD

The government has successfully regained control of the TG-iPASS portal following the cyber attack and is working to restore the site with increased security measures within two days.

Industries director Nikhil Chakravarthy said in a statement that the portal was brought back under the control of cybercriminals and that additional cyber security measures were being put in place before it was reopened to users.

“We have taken back control of the portal from cybercriminals. The website is equipped with stronger cyber security firewalls and will be made accessible again within two days,” he said. Data related to the Industrial Permits Platform remains secure on the server.

The Industries Department is strengthening the security standards of the portal to prevent recurrence of such incidents. Enhanced safeguards are in place before public access to the online platform is restored.

The portal was the target of a cyber attack on October 22, following which officials filed a complaint with the Telangana Cyber Security Bureau. TG-iPASS is Telangana’s online system to facilitate industrial approvals and permits.
