
The construction on the National Highway 66 would be completed in December 2025 according to the schedule, provided by the Minister of Transport of the Union Nitin Gadkari. It was certainly awarded to the Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan during the meeting held in Nový Delhi on Wednesday.
The Chief Minister of Pinarayi Vijayan also tried to free the money spent by keral for staying on the land of highway projects in the state from the borrowing limit of Keral.

Mr. Vijayan said in a social media post that a meeting with the Minister of the Union was productive. The meeting also reviewed the progress of the ongoing national motorway projects in Kerala, said he thanked his continuing support.
In an interview with the media after the meeting, the Minister of the Ministry of Public Work PA Mohammad Riyas said that the work on the NH section from Kasaragod to Thiruvananthapuram will be completed in December 2025 and the new NH would be a new year for Keralits.
At the meeting, a certainty was received at the meeting for the construction of 360 meters of viaduct, which will replace the collapsed section NH 66 in Kooriyad near Tirurangadi.
The Indian National Highway Office (NHAI) has already suspended employees responsible for the collapse of the road and the supplier was prevented from performing other activities in the section. The cost of construction of Koriyad collapse would be selected from the supplier company.
The problems that occurred in connection with the construction of NH in other parts of the state were also alerted to the Minister of the Union and assured the necessary interventions to prevent any such problems in the future, said Mr. Riyas.
Of the 20 projects submitted by the state seeking the approval of the center, 14 projects received assurance from the center. The projects received by the central nod include the Thiruvananthapuram Outer Ring Road Project project, for which the order will be issued in July, and Palakkad-Kozhikode Greenfield Highway, for which it will be released by the end of July.
The Minister also stated that the order to start work on the Greenfield project in Kollam-Shankottai will be issued by September.
Soil and sludge collected from water bodies will be used for road construction, but only after ensuring the quality of the material for the construction of roads. Material quality will be ensured by irrigation and inland navigation ward and Nhai. The Minister also stated that it would later decide whether to reduce small vehicles on the NH 66, including bikes and authorickshaws.
