The left democratic front campaign (LDF) in the Nilambur election assembly tried to put a united democratic front (UDF) in the dock by accusing the opposition alliance of denigating the distribution of social security pensions as “voting Eve”.
The Indian Communist Party (Marxista) (CPI (M)) State Secretariat and LDF candidate in Nilambur, M. Swwaj, claimed that the Secretary General of the Congress of the whole India (Organization), KC Venugopal, MP, was humiliated by 62 Lakh’s social recipients in the state.
Mr. Swaraj noted that recipients were mostly seniors, widows, unmarried women over 50 years, agricultural workers and people with disabilities. LDF has been sworn to increase the monthly payment in the Blahobyt region from 1,600 to 2,500 GBP.
Mr. Swwaj said that the state’s state pension is their right, not charity or incitement to obtain votes. “Mr. Venugopal should apologize or change his statement, unless he thinks. If not, Mr. Venugopal risks that it seems to be ashamed of those who are the lowest socio-economic place of Keral’s society,” he added.
General Minister of Education V. Sivankutty said that the speech of Mr. Venugopal at the election convention of the candidate of the Congress Aryadan Shoukath in Nilambur was equal to the direct challenge for ordinary citizens.
“Mr. Venugopal grinned at ordinary people who depend on retirement as financial support. Congress leaders should stop ridicule for the ordinary people in destruction. The fear of failure caused Mr. Venugopal to disparage people,” he wrote on Facebook.
Mr. Venugopal accused LDF of disrupting his speech. “I did not consider the recipient in social security. I instead pointed out that LDF retained monthly pension payments and issued resources only when it was elective for the ruling front.
Venugopal refuses to insert a statement
Mr Venugopal refused to download a controversial statement. “LDF used gambit in Lok Sabha elections in 2024,” he said.
The leader of the opposition VD Satheesen and the leader of Congress Ramesh Chenninithal expressed solidarity with Mr. Venugopal. Both said the LDF government undermined the sanctity of social payments by using them ruthlessly as a political instrument at the expense of recipients.
