Protests against SIR updates: CJP leaders vow to continue SIR protest, say Gyanesh Kumar will have to resign

The march to the ECI, called by the Delhi Coordination Committee of People Against SIR – a people’s collective – began near Gole Dak Khana, at the intersection of Kalibari Marg and Bhai Vir Singh Marg.

The Krantikari Yuva Sangathan (KYS) and the Students’ Federation of India (SFI) extended their support to the protest, with activists from Delhi, Haryana and western Uttar Pradesh also participating.

Security was beefed up near Bangla Sahib Gurudwara and Delhi Police and Rapid Action Force (RAF) were deployed in large numbers ahead of the march.

The organizers have called upon farmers, labourers, youth, women and people from different walks of life to join the march with the national flag.
