Sri Satya Sai District Superintendent of Police S. Satish Kumar on Friday assured the candidates contesting the MPTC and ZPTC elections that adequate security arrangements have been made to allow them to file their nominations and campaign freely and peacefully.

Addressing police personnel on bandobasth duty in Puttaparthi, the SP said the police department remains committed to creating a conducive atmosphere for candidates to participate in the democratic process without fear, intimidation or obstruction.

He urged candidates facing threats, pressure or attempts to stop them from filing their nominations to immediately report the incidents to the SP office or local police stations. “All complaints will be thoroughly investigated and appropriate legal action will be taken against those responsible,” he said.

“Special police teams have already been deployed to ensure that the nomination process and subsequent election activities are conducted peacefully and transparently,” Kumar said.

The SP reiterated that the democratic rights of all candidates will be protected and that all eligible candidates can file their nominations without fear.
